  • Content Creation

    • CADworks Revit® MEP Comprehensive Content is geared specifically towards manufacturers and engineers. All content is reviewed and tested in a sample project by one of our in-house engineers before being released to the public.

  • BIMXchange

    • CADworks delivers content in real-time via the BIMXchange libraries. BIMXchange includes the creation of a custom branded library, that when authenticated through the CADworks Content Browser, allows users to view, search, and upload the manufacturer specific content into their projects. The CADworks Content Browser is complimentary to Autodesk Seek.

  • Custom Programming for Tools & Configurators

    • CADworks utilizes the Revit API to produce custom applications tailored specifically to the end users’ requirements. CADworks is able to create custom web-based, forms-based, or hybrid applications for a variety of hosting environments. Custom applications have been developed for Family and model creation, coordination, and data retrieval for a variety of clients.

  • Help Documents and Videos

    • CADworks creates Help documents and videos that accompany our Content Tools to explain correct installation of the product and correct use of the content in a sample project. The videos can also be created and customized for company representatives to better inform potential or existing clients. The videos also include a brief tutorial on Revit and explain its benefits for BIM projects.

BIMXchange for BPMs

This content browser runs directly in Revit. It is a lightweight web application that utilizes the CADworks Cloud to store, search, and deliver content in real-time. This provides a reliable and fully scalable location for content storage and delivery.

Advantages of the BIMXchange

As changes occur (such as module enhancements or content additions and updates), users will benefit in real-time. Navigation of the browser, including the tree view, is intended to facilitate an engineer’s task by mirroring existing manufacturers’ categories and organization. Renderings of each product enhance the browser layout by providing a visual preview of the content. To tie it all together, the package includes a custom branded web page that contains the latest browser download, help, links, and news.

Users gain the capability to search the content library in each view. These advanced features allow any user to search for values in all parameters of each piece of content. Finding and locating content quickly and efficiently is crucial to the success of usage within a project. User authentication allows for detailed matrix information on content usage trends and demographics. All information is held as ‘Private’ for the manufacturer, should they be interested in the data. It is not to be used by CADworks nor sold for marketing purposes. By creating a custom library that is manufacturer specific, a user has access to easily find and load all available manufacturer content. All content that is created for a manufacturer library is also included in the CADworks library. Therefore, at no cost to the manufacturer, it is possible to reach a broader audience of MEP engineers.

The browser can facilitate revision tracking, updates, and future content distribution. One possible solution to handle updates is to notify users (via email, etc) when updates are available. Another option is to allow the user check all content in their current project against the latest content in the browser.

As content is loaded directly into a project from the CADworks Cloud, the need for a company to manage or backup massive content libraries is eliminated. The browser also allows a user to load only the types of each Revit family that he/she plans to use in the current project. By using only the necessary types, a Revit model can remain as small as possible to increase productivity.
