Coordination Services

The CADworks Coordination team is able to draw from years of experience in construction coordination and modeling, having led coordination and modeling efforts on dozens of multi-million square foot projects. With this acquired expertise CADworks is able to offer assistance in all aspects of preconstruction and construction.

Now commonplace, BIM processes push the Revit model to the general contractor, who in turn offers it to participating subs. CADworks supplies fabrication/shop drawings for this process. Although closely related, BIM and IPD are not to be confused. BIM is best defined as a virtual building model and data engine, while IPD should be described as the collaboration of means and methods made possible from utilizing what BIM generates.

Over a twenty-year period CADworks has built a reputation of responsiveness and quality for traditional CAD services. We offer CAD drafting and modeling, multimedia animations and presentations, and web collaboration for the AEC community. With the growing adoption of BIM, CADworks now focuses on interoperability solutions as well.

Modeling for Coordination

CADworks implements a variety of software to model architectural, structural and engineering systems. We model in Revit® MEP, Revit® Architecture, Revit® Structure, AutoCAD MEP®, CADduct®, CADmech®, and CADelec®. The advantage of using CADduct, CADmech, and CADelec is the ability to go from coordination to shop to fabrication without remodeling. This saves time and money, thereby bringing considerable value to the contractor.

Coordination Services

CADworks is fully capable of organizing and running the Coordination phase of a construction project. We begin the process by tailoring our WebAxis® product specifically for the project on which it is being used. Individual project schedules, Gantt charts, email alerts, documentation hosting, RFI logs, and project specific group contact lists are all easily integrated into one easy to use, easy to access site.

The Coordination meetings are run using Navisworks®. This software is highly effective for collision detection and clash reports. It is also unique in that multiple CAD and/or BIM platforms can be imported into one file, stripping down the base geometry for making the file lightweight. We upload all collision reports by trade and they are uploaded for all parties to see. We document and keep track of schedules and issues. CADworks can supply hardware and software where a turnkey solution is necessary.
